Brazilian, born in Salvador – Bahia, Igor began his ballet studies with MarthaVillas-Boas at age 15. In 2009 he joined the Bolshoi Theater School, where he graduated in 2013.During his studies, Vladimir Vassiliev choreographed ballets for the Bolshoi Theater School where Gomes had the opportunity to dance renowned ballets such as: Don Quixote, The Nutcracker and Giselle During his studies he worked with Victor Barykin, Boris Akimov, Nina Speranskaya, Galina Koslova, Ludmila Sinelnikova, and Sérgio Lobato. And also had the honour to share the stage with artists like Natalia Osipova, Ivan Vasiliev, Andrey Boltim and others. After graduating from the Bolshoi School, Igor began working at the Youth Company. Igor’s repertoire of Grand Pas de Deux includes: The Corsair, Slave and Merchant, La Sylphide, Don Quixote, The Nutcracker, Giselle, La Bayadere, Esmeralda and Raymonda. In 2017 Igor joined Coastal City Ballet where he danced in main roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, Midnight Summer Dreams, Raymonda, Hansel and Gretal, Sleeping Beauty and others. In the meantime Igor also had the opportunity to work with well known choreographers such as: Davi Rodrigues, Erica Trivete, Yaming Li, Joshua Beamish,Lara Barclay,David Norsworthy, Shannon Moreno, Dario Dinuzzi, Shauna Elton, Vanessa Goodman andWen Wei.
Igor has been committed to offering his experience and artistic seriousness with his work as a classical ballet and contemporary instructor at several dance academies that focus on the technical improvement and training of dancers since 2015.
With all the knowledge and experience Igor is able to teach a wide array of dance styles such as: Ballet Classical (Vaganova or RAD), Contemporary Dance, Pas De Deux, Variation, Repertoire, Character Dance, Gymnastics for dancers, Body conditioning and Stretching Class.
